	The Housing Authority of the City of Macon's strategy for addressing youth involvement with drugs is to focus on developing realistic alternatives. Youth Empowerment Enterprises began as part of our drug elimination program. The goal of this program is to provide the young people in public housing with a working alternative to drugs. Through this program, young people can learn how to start and then operate their own business. The program strives to:

Teach our youth in a practical and interesting way about how to start and run a small business.

Expose our youth to successful and positive role models

Convince our young people that they can succeed within the system if they work hard and smart

Motivate youth to try, then support them with technical assistance while they start a small venture
